valencia wine company and grape of the night
I was invited by Eve of Eve’s Wine Blog to attend a monthly wine tasting at Valencia Wine Company. I’ve been to lots of wine tastings but this one was unique and educational. At “Grape Of The Night”, they pick a certain type of wine or origin and focus on just that for the evening. Last Monday was Bordeaux night. I think there were ten different bottles of wine including one white Bordeaux that was chilled. It was fun to try different bottles of the same variety of wine. You could tell the subtle and not-so-subtle differences between wine makers, ages and combination of grapes from the same area of growers.
The hubby and I had nice chats with many folks, including our table mate John Carter of BarParts.com, a leader in wine accessories, decanters and barware since 1998. Can’t wait to order our new bottle opener from John.
Of course I have to mention to great cheese plate that we munched from for only $15. It came with four cheeses and two different types of crackers. It was a perfect accompaniment to our wine tasting adventure.
