seventy years
I know I’m supposed to write about food and Santa Clarita but I just have to share the milestone my grandparents will be celebrating next Sunday night, December 27th.
You see, on that day, 70 years ago, my grandmother Belle married my grandfather Seymour in New York. That is right. They will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in one week.
Both grew up in New York in poor families. My grandmother was not my great-grandmother’s first choice. They struggled through the Great Depression, my grandfather’s serving during WWII, and antisemitism in the aerospace industry. My grandfather was a mechanic and my grandmother a librarian for most of their working life.
They had two children, my uncle Larry and my mom, Sandi. Larry has four children and seven grandchildren. My mom had two children, my brother Adam and myself. Mom has five grandchildren.
My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor but overall they are both in excellent health.

Belle and Hank, Dawn's grandparents, celebrate their 70th Anniversary
Happy Anniversary Belle and Hank. I love you both down to the bottom of my heart and feel fortunate to have such a inspiring marriage to aspire towards.
Dawn’s newest and most successful culinary adventure is Dawn’s Dinners. Chef Dawn prepares fresh dinners for families in the Santa Clarita Valley. Chef Dawn also offers fresh frozen meals, complete with reheating instructions, ready to take home and defrost. Not only do families get healthy home-style cooked meals, but the meals are usually only $25 for four people and $35 for six! Surf over to Chef Dawn’s website www.chefdawn.com where you can see what is on the menu for dinner tonight. When Chef Dawn is not cooking, which is rare, she enjoys spending time and camping with her amazing husband, four daughters, Truffles the dog and Puff and Custard, the dragons.

Mazel Tov to Aunt Belle and Uncle Hank!!!
Mazletov to Aunt Belle and Uncle Seymour. I’m so glad that we had the pleasure of your company, in Rome, so many years ago.
I wish you MAZLETOV on this very momentous occasion. Had he lived, Freddy and I would have been married 61 yrs. You’re so fortunate to have each other still!! I send you hugs for your anniversary.
Love,
Norma
