have an intuitive new year
New Year’s Day is often the starting point for changes we want to make in our lives. Some people call them resolutions which sounds to me as if you HAVE to do them instead of WANT to do them. Last New Year’s Eve, I decided to stop eating sugar. This was something that I really, really, really wanted to do. Currently I am 363 days dessert free, and plan to continue that lifestyle into 2010.
Here are some tips for a more intuitive 2010. Perhaps you will add some of these into your lifestyle this coming year.
1. Meditation – Oh, I know, it’s like who has the time to sit and meditate, right? What if I substituted the word BREATHE for meditate. Would you do it? Of course, you would! You have to breathe. What if meditation was simply breathing consciously for a short time each day? It is! Taking a few minutes each day to pay attention to your breath can lower your stress levels, help you regain clarity and focus, and do something extremely important which is putting yourself FIRST!
2. Make a Vision Board – Oh, here we go again, like who has the time to make a vision board? I have an idea. Why not have a Vision Board Party? Ask a few friends to bring over some paper, scissors,
magazines, glue, photos, wishes and dreams, and collectively begin to make your dreams come true. This social event could lead to manifesting what you want most in your life. At the very least, perhaps it will clarify what you want to accomplish in the near future. Whether it is a vacation to Hawaii, a new home, a better job, a closer family, or a love relationship, put it out there! The vision board can help you “see” where you want to go in your life.
3. Exercise – You don’t have to be psychic to know I was going to throw that one out there. Keeping the body moving is important both figuratively AND literally. If you are “stuck” physically, you are probably experiencing feeling stuck in other areas of your life. The more you move, the more your life will move forward. Walking is a wonderful way to connect with your breath, enjoy beautiful surroundings, and get your heart rate up. Find a friend who wants to join you. The buddy system works great.
4. Yoga – Are you saying “Yikes?” No need. Many people believe they are unable to go to a yoga class because they can’t bend over and
touch their knees. Well, that is a very good reason to test the waters of yoga. They don’t call it a yoga PRACTICE for nothing. Everyone goes at their own pace, and under the instructor’s gentle eye, you will be doing Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog) in no time!
What about yoga for the whole family? Yoga Yoga in Newhall on Walnut Street by the Yellow Victoria Building is now offering yoga classes for families! Beginning January 10th on Sundays from 2-3PM, you can bring your children ages 2-10 for Family Yoga. Call today at 661-222-7777.
5. Develop your psychic ability in 2010 – I have a feeling this is going to happen to many people without even trying. We are living in a different universe right now, and relying on your intuition is crucial for everyday living. Notice how many times you know who is going to call you, or how many times you just knew you had to drive down a certain street. The more you notice these “coincidences,” the more you will. By the way, meditating a little bit each day will help enhance your psychic intuition. Remember Tip #1?
Have a safe, healthy, and Happy New Year!

Hi Harriette,
I just got back to town…. and (back to my computer,as well)! and saw your latest blog. I loved it! Great reminders for some good resolutions and meditation, meditation, meditation!!
Harriette,
I love your suggestions. Especially the one about “breathing”! There is so much benefit to just laying back for a few minutes and relaxing the muscles and mind and focusing on the breath. I’m going to take 5 right now!
Happy New Year, Harriette!
