Over the last week we heard of the Eureka 6.5 earthquake (a blessing that no major damage was reported). We also are witnessing the aftermath of the Haiti 7.0 Earthquake. Our prayers are with the survivors, the families of the victims, the volunteers, and the leadership to make the correct decisions to restore order and rebuild the communities both in infrastructure and spirit.

Talk with your family and friends on what you will do in the event of emergency. Do you have an earthquake kit? Do you have a plan? Does your office have a plan? There are many resources available to help you get prepared!
Excerpt From FEMA: Take Protective Measures
Before an Earthquake
The following are things you can do to protect yourself, your family, and your property in the event of an earthquake:
• Place large or heavy objects on lower shelves. Fasten shelves, mirrors, and large picture frames to walls. Brace high and top-heavy objects.
• Store bottled foods, glass, china, and other breakables on low shelves or in cabinets that fasten shut.
• Anchor overhead lighting fixtures.
• Locate safe spots in each room under a sturdy table or against an inside wall. Reinforce this information by moving to these places during each drill.
• Hold earthquake drills with your family members: Drop, cover, and hold on!
