quality food at wholesale prices
Wouldn’t it be fantastic to receive 100% certified USDA organic produce within hours of harvest? Fruits and vegetables from local growers delivered weekly? Well you can! Abundant Harvest has brought together an awesome group of farmers that are some of the best at what they do. Their organic produce is fairly priced and significantly below retail value of the same products from grocers.
Abundant Harvest gives you a choice of a large box, which depending on appetites, could feed a family of four, at $33.80 per week, or the smaller box that will feed one to two people at $19.80 per week. They also have an ever growing list of farm products that you can add-on such as raw milk, eggs, and chicken at whole sale prices. You can choose how often you receive your delivery and if you miss your delivery, your box will be donated to a charitable organization. There are two local pick up sites in Santa Clarita Valley: Valencia and Canyon Country.
An example of a small box of food contains: mandarin oranges, lemons, tangelos, cabbage, spinach, cauliflower, red leaf lettuce, shallots, garlic carrots, brussell sprouts, beets, kale and parsnips. They also have recipes on the site that are helpful, especially if you’re like me and have no what to do with kale!
If you are looking to fill your freezer up with food, check out The Treasure Box. The Treasure Box provides families and individuals with a substantial box of grocery store quality food retailing between $65-100 for just $30 each. The Treasure Box cultivates relationships with more than 500 major food manufacturers across the country to purchase and provide top quality, nutritious food at sizeable volume discounts to the general public. Manufacturers include Heinz, USA, Nestle, Jenny O and ConAgra, Kraft, Sara Lee and Harvest Farms. When these manufacturers overproduce for grocery stores and/or restaurants, The Treasure box is able to purchase surplus food at a lower cost. The food is high quality, since it the same food purchased by restaurants and grocery stores. As an “off-price” distributor of food, they deliver value similar to what TJ Maxx and Marshalls offers consumers for apparel!
Everything from The Treasure Box arrives frozen so you don’t have to worry about waste. Each Treasure Box contains between 21-25 pounds of high quality, frozen foods, including chicken,
pork, beef, or seafood, as well as vegetables, fruit, a side dish and a dessert. One Treasure Box is enough food to nutritiously feed a family of four lunch and dinner for almost a week or a senior citizen for nearly a month. An example of a months worth of frozen food contains: chicken breasts, turkey/ham, chicken fajitas meat, angus beef patties, ground beef, pork sausage, smoked sausage links, chili, breakfast wraps, macaroni and cheese, chicken fried rice, tomato basil soup, frozen veggies, frozen peaches, 8” flour tortillas, potato straight cut fries, black beans, oatmeal, dessert. Thanks for this great post. I really think the organic box thing is a great idea. I have seen a few people doing it. I see that you listed them above. They have stopped selling organic food at some grocery stores, simply because no one buys. I think the smaller quantity and hand delivery works better than in-store. I highly recommend the ABUNDANT HARVEST which delivers at College of the Canyons. Totally worth it!
