Mother’s Day! I am blessed that this is my Eighth Mother’s Day complete with construction paper cards and breakfast in bed. I am also humbled that this is my second Mother’s Day without a mom to call. So as last year – we are donating can goods to the local food pantry. My mom was an honorable woman who cared deeply for her family and for her community. I celebrate her and as we celebrate the Moms Place in our world. Moms, without you there is no future. There is no “next generation”. We take our role seriously and do the best that we can with the resources we have.
I am pleased that although I always perceived that my Mom was Lone Ranger (we grew up in a really small dairy farming community) I do not need to be. My family is back east and my friends are busy women, and in the past we would trade voicemails of encouragement – now I have ‘pep-tweets’ or ‘pep –texts’ to turn to. My core group is only a text message away!
