blessings in an oil disaster

By now you’ve all heard, there are millions of gallons of oil spilling into the Gulf of Mexico.  Seeping into fragile ecosystems and destroying them for the foreseeable future.  Many of the wonderful people I know and encounter are consumed by anger, fear, and sadness.  They want to know several things:  what can I possibly do to help? how can I feel better?
Let’s begin with perspective.  The Media, and most of us as a result,  frame this as an unmitigated ecological disaster.  Granted, there are some awful things that are happening in the Gulf and the impact will be world wide.  That being said, there are some amazing opportunities.  I have long said that if I’m going to pay so high a price (in pain. loss, etc…) you can be darn sure that I AM GOING TO “GET” THE LESSON or THE GIFT that lies within it.  So, let’s imagine the BEST outcome we possibly can- really, imagine it!
Let’s imagine that many of those people who are affected by the “spill”, are loosing their jobs etc… instead turn to careers focused on the recovery and restoration of their homes and habitats.  This recovery provides thousands of jobs and teaches extraordinary lessons and deep understanding in the ecosystems of our Earth. Imagine all of these people becoming passionate and opening their hearts and awareness to living lightly on the earth and becoming advocates for deep and genuine change in the ways they live.  Imagine these people no longer shouting “Drill, Baby, Drill” but  embracing their inner “tree hugger”.  Imagine new and extraordinary bio-technologies that may one day help save other ecosystems and perhaps entire species.

Let’s imagine that President Obama, who has been loosing ground to the Oil Industry… now has the popular support to take the stand for renewable energy sources and SUCCEED!  Let’s imagine that hydrogen, solar and wind power development leap forward- imagine they make a quantum leap- and are brought into USE faster that could possibly have occurred without this “disaster”. Let’s imagine that the “oil moguls” are so shaken by this event that they, too, open their hearts, their patents and their wallets in order to take responsibility, lead the way and heal. Imagine they are our allies, not our enemies.  Really. Pray for them!  Wrap them in love and forgiveness.
Let’s imagine… the miraculous.  Let’s imagine that all of the people who care move from anger and sadness to faith and prayer.  Prayer can be that active, positive outcome imagining.  Faith sometimes requires heavy lifting- it requires you to believe in something that does not exist yet  .  You must hold to your vision in spite of what the media tells you.  In spite of all the dire predictions, you must know better.  Let us imagine that all of us joining our energies together will create even more positive, amazing, even miraculous things occur.  Things even beyond our imagining.  Perhaps God/Goddess is answering all our prayers with this challenging blessing.  If you’re willing,
try this with me.  Go to www.clearthegulf.com and download the meditation you’ll find (for free) there and practice it.  Go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmhWsPNrRgs and watch/pray the prayer that Dr. Emoto has written for the Gulf.  You can make a difference.  Lift your expectation.  Change the way you look at things, the things you look at CHANGE.  You’ll also feel better… your feeling better makes a better difference in the energetic sea in which we all swim.

BLOGGER BIO

I began this life in what was at the time, Leopoville, Belgian Congo. (Currently it is Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo.) I started early to study metaphysics in the form of Astrology at age 8 and had my first existential crisis at age 12. I also began to work with Tarot at about that age, though I don’t think that the two are related. I continued to be drawn to metaphysics in its many various forms. I studied “Trance Channeling” (which I now refer to as Mediumship) in the 1980s. It was in the 80s that I found myself a home at the Healing Light Center Church under the direction of Rev. Rosalyn L. Bruyere. My spiritual guidance gave me a lifelong gift when it led me to her doors. I have had the great honor and pleasure of working as her student for over 20 years now. Ordained first in the Universal Life Church, I then earned a degree in Hands on Healing (Energy Medicine) from the HLCC and years later was ordained again – this time as a Healing Light Center Church minister. I have always believed that God doesn’t care what you call her, as long as you call . The seminary program at the HLCC taught me to work in and honor many spiritual traditions – Christian, Jewish, Bon Po, Goddess, Wiccian, Egyptian and the ways of the Native Americans or the Red Road. I later spent several years exclusively following the Red Road and studying with a Native teacher. I call my ministry a Gypsy ministry as I simply go where I’m called.
