come help out a sister in need

Getting a great deal on vintage clothes is cause enough to celebrate, but this weekend it could help a neighbor in need as well. Friends and coworkers of Angela Roselund, a stylist at the J. Sisters Salon on Lyons Avenue who is struggling with breast cancer, are organizing a garage sale to help pay for her treatment and living expenses during her recuperation. The sale will take place at the salon from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on October 18. The group, which calls itself ‘Angela’s Army,’ hopes to make the event more than just a bargain hunt and has arranged for donations of hot dogs, cotton candy, and a bounce house.

Roselund, who is self-employed and uninsured, will undergo a double mastectomy on October 20. She faces a 10 week recovery period. Unsold items will go to support the American Cancer Society and the Assistance League.
