radical gratitude
If you’ve read about “The Law of Attraction” or seen or heard of “The Secret”, you may have noticed one of the founding principles hidden within these teachings. GRATITUDE. Gratitude is part of what the Native Teachers call “the Give-Away”. Gratitude is a gift back to the world. Living in Gratitude thanks the Creator/Life, for all that you have. Gratitude moves you out of “lack” and away from “wanting”, both of which connect you energetically to the state of Not Having what you WANT. Wanting is a clear energetic message of “I don’t have ______”, which in turn, brings (attracts) more of the not having. (Very frustrating, really, and hard to get out of!) So one of the best (and fastest) ways “out” of wanting…. is Gratitude.
Cultivate Gratitude. Nurture it in every moment of your day. Practice
Gratitude- really, practice radical gratitude. Challenge yourself to “Just Say Thank You” to everyone, to everything, to every situation… you get the idea. Write Thank You on your mirrors and windows to remind yourself that there are always ABUNDANT things for which to be grateful. You could even be grateful for “just” being you!
When I’m having an emotionally challenging day, I begin with my breath. I happen to be blessed with the ability to breathe, deeply, and without pain. I begin, not just to count, but to FEEL MY BLESSINGS. Then, I increase my gratitude outward from my breath. I enjoy excellent health. I’m graced to have a wonderful family and dear friends. The day is a glory of nature unfolding around me, inviting me to drink deeply of the beauty offered freely and abundantly to my senses. I can think clearly enough to invite gratitude to grow in my life. I still have a sense of humor… there’s a quick way to shift.
Laugh. Even if it is macabre humor it is a back door into gratitude. Think of all the things that could be worse and be grateful that they are NOT! Get extreme with this one… Well, at least there are no reports today of Life-ending Meteors hitting the earth. Well, at least we haven’t had a big earthquake today. Well, at least there aren’t 5 wells spilling oil in the Gulf. If, in doing this, someone else or some other part of the world comes to mind… and you know that they are
dealing with the things you’re grateful not to be dealing with – you could send a little love to them. Just imagine the lift in the energy that you’ll be making now. You’ve lifted yourself and you’ve lifted others. Wow. You are amazing and I am grateful for you!
There are several sites on the World Wide Web that are dedicated to Gratitude. I am particularly grateful for these two: www.Gogratitude.com and www.gratitudelog.com

“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice.”
— Meister Eckhart (1260-1329)
I began this life in what was at the time, Leopoville, Belgian Congo. (Currently it is Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo.) I started early to study metaphysics in the form of Astrology at age 8 and had my first existential crisis at age 12. I also began to work with Tarot at about that age, though I don’t think that the two are related. I continued to be drawn to metaphysics in its many various forms. I studied “Trance Channeling” (which I now refer to as Mediumship) in the 1980s. It was in the 80s that I found myself a home at the Healing Light Center Church under the direction of Rev. Rosalyn L. Bruyere. My spiritual guidance gave me a lifelong gift when it led me to her doors. I have had the great honor and pleasure of working as her student for over 20 years now. Ordained first in the Universal Life Church, I then earned a degree in Hands on Healing (Energy Medicine) from the HLCC and years later was ordained again – this time as a Healing Light Center Church minister. I have always believed that God doesn’t care what you call her, as long as you call . The seminary program at the HLCC taught me to work in and honor many spiritual traditions – Christian, Jewish, Bon Po, Goddess, Wiccian, Egyptian and the ways of the Native Americans or the Red Road. I later spent several years exclusively following the Red Road and studying with a Native teacher. I call my ministry a Gypsy ministry as I simply go where I’m called.
