I have a confession – I love my Sonicare Toothbrush – the vibration-message of the gums – the polish cycle, and my inability to multi-task during the twice a day ritual. It is my 2 minutes of me time. I have spoken to more than a few folks about their love-love-more relationship with their toothbrushes and it amazes me how many people can successfully multi-task during this private activity. Some start coffee, some get dressed, others wake the kids, read the paper and some check email/tweets/facebook. I – on the other hand – do everything I can to keep the minty saliva from dripping on my sleepy clothes. Gross to some of who are conquering the world, making omelets and mowing the lawn, but there are some of you who know EXACTLY what I mean. What...

plan your landscape right

plan your landscape right

All too often people think that taking the time or spending the money to draw plans for the garden is unnecessary. Some folks think garden designers are only for creating ‘Beverly Hills’ looking landscapes. Others think they can save money by planning out their own gardens or leaving it to their ‘mowers and blowers’. The truth is that taking the time to do a good design for your garden will actually save you time and money in the long run. A bad design, a poorly installed garden, and trying out plants hit-or-miss will all become expensive when they go wrong and have to be torn out and completely re-installed. Call in an expert if you aren’t really good at design, construction and horticulture. The expense will not only give you a...

how to love yourself

how to love yourself

On March 25, 2010, I gave a lecture called “7 TIPS ON HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF.”  Think about it. Who are you with 24 hours a day?  If you are going to be with someone 24 hours a day, you really ought to LOVE them. No one would hang around with anyone for that amount of time that they didn’t like, right?  So, here are some tips for you to help love yourself even more.  There’s a free gift for you, too, at the end of the list. Tip #1 – REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ALREADY PERFECT The key word is REMEMBER.  We come into our life as perfect beings, but as we get older, we forget this fact.  Remember that you are perfect, and that every moment is perfect.  Even if it feels less than perfect, it is perfect at the time.  You are perfect just...

dog day of scv real estate

dog day of scv real estate

This week I was driving down McBean Parkway with the windows down singing to my favorite driving CD – Billy Joel. Loudly. I noticed the hatchback to my left had its windows down too. But this car had this rather LARGE DOG in the front passenger seat. Such a big dog! I am sure it had the seatbelt on. The dog was so content – out for a drive – tongue to the wind. At a stop light, I hollered to the young driver – ‘when I come back, I want to be your dog.’ We shared a laugh and continued on our day. What does this have to do with Real Estate in Santa Clarita Valley? So many times in Real Estate Sellers and Buyers want to be in the driver’s seat. There are many variables are out there: market forces, lender and government rules, regulations and fees....
