mobile, mobile, mobile 2011
With 4.6 billion cell phones in use around the world, Mobile campaigns, websites, and apps are the future. Smartphones are all the rage and with the technology progressing at such a rapid rate, this is definitely something to add to your marketing.
Google buying Yelp
Review sites are going to be something to keep an eye on this coming year. Yelp had a hard year with several lawsuits, but with the Google buy out, they will be a force to be reckoned with. If you don’t have a listing on Yelp you may want to add this into your marketing as well.
Share Compelling Stories
You will see a shift in companies take on marketing. The quick 30 second elevator speech will become a story format. As more companies adopt social media as a way to connect with customers, they will begin developing compelling stories to share that message. People are more interested in emotional and inspiring stories than a fun jingle or logo.
Expanded Forums of Social Communications
The big three platforms of Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn will continue to reign but, niche industry sites and forums will become more important this year. Companies are learning to communicate with users in more authentic and transparent ways, and this will pay off as they get more involved in these conversations.
Continued Growth of Social Search
The importance of search engines, especially Google and Bing, are already huge but look for search engines to do a better and more relevant job of providing results from across our social networks and to add a social sharing component to search results. So be sure to update your fan page daily for a better organic search engine for your company.

I use my knowledge to assist clients in this new wave of web marketing. I also put my five years of upscale retail management experience to work bringing a higher level of success to everything I touch. My three years of experience in the hotel industry (Sales Department, Accounting, and concierge) helped to polish my business savvy. Although my main focus is social media, I has a strong background with fundraising for a large non-profit organization and chaired several events. I am a proud mother of three beautiful children. I live happily in Santa Clarita Valley, California.
